Melissa received her undergraduate degree in special education from the University of Oklahoma in 2010 and her master’s degree in speech-language pathology from the University of Florida in 2014. She has worked in private practice in both Alaska and Oklahoma, as well as in the public school system. She has completed training in Introduction to PROMPT: Technique, various SOS feeding courses, and courses in childhood apraxia of speech (CAS), autism spectrum disorder, sensory integration techniques, and the Social Thinking Curriculum by Michelle Garcia Winner. She most recently completed the Comprehensive IMSE Orton-Gillingham training course, which focuses on dyslexia and reading disorder diagnosis and treatment. Although she loves treating a variety of patients, Melissa has special interests in the areas of reading disorders, assistive and augmentative communication (AAC), and social skills therapy.
